On February 5th & 6th we would like to invite Grandparents’ Loved ones to come have lunch with their Grandkid’s. The Book Fair will be open during lunch, so Grandparents’ will have an opportunity to purchase books for their Grandkids if they choose to. This is a fun opportunity to come spend some time with the students and have a delicious school lunch!
This year, we are asking that you make reservations and PREPAY by February 3, 2026. We hope this will eliminate backups and confusion in the office. Tickets will be given to the teachers, who will then give them to the students on the day their loved ones are eating. You may pre-pay in the office with a check, card, or cash (exact change please). You may also send the money with the students, along with the reservation slip below. Please clearly write your students’ names on the envelope. Please note: Due to the high volume of participants, we are unable to transfer money from the students’ lunch account to pay for your lunch.
When filling out the reservation slip, please do not include the student in your lunch count; they will be counted with their class. We also ask that you stick with the day you reserve. Please do not switch the days once you have paid; it messes up the lunch count, and we may end up with too much food or run out.
When you arrive at the school, check in at the front office, then wait in the main hallway outside the cafeteria until your grandchildren come to lunch; they will have your ticket to eat. You must have a ticket to give to the cashier when you go through the lunch line. Parents, if you pay for a grandparent, please let them know you have paid for them.
If you have any questions, you can call the kitchen at 801-395-5619. Please arrive early so you do not miss your grandchild. You may park in the parent pick-up loop. Please avoid the bus zone. For safety reasons, visitors are not permitted outside in the back of the school during the school day. We look forward to seeing you! These are very fun days for the students!

Utah is known for its winter conditions, with the Ogden area receiving over five feet of snowfall annually. During the winter months, temperatures typically average in the 20s and 30s, and it is common to experience patterns of cold and snowy weather.
Despite challenging weather, the Weber School District has a responsibility to keep schools open as long as they can be operated safely and effectively. The community relies on our schools for the essential services they provide to children and families, so any adjustments to the school schedule must be made with great care and consideration.
On snowy days, custodial and maintenance crews assess each school early to ensure buildings are safe to open. Adequate staff must also be on-site before classes begin. Our transportation department also monitors weather and road conditions to ensure buses can operate safely
If schools can be safely opened and buses can run on schedule, classes will be held as usual. Otherwise, the superintendent will decide whether to adjust the schedule, which may include delaying the start of school by one or two hours, depending on the conditions. Delayed starts do not require the day to be made up later in the school year.
Notifications of delays or closures will be sent out as soon as reasonably possible via text, email, and the WSD app. Please ensure you are signed up to receive these notifications.
Ultimately, a parent decides to send their child to school. If a parent feels their child cannot safely get to school, they should make the best decision regarding attendance. If a student is late or misses class due to concerns about safely getting to school in adverse weather, we will work closely with them to make up any missed assignments.
Weber School District serves over 33,000 students across 48 schools, where weather conditions can vary by community. Decisions to delay or cancel school are made with careful consideration based on district-wide circumstances, while also balancing the needs of families. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
